WHY STUDYING FOR GRC?

Being a member of The Chartered Governance Institute demonstrates your professional standing and gives you the support of an active national and international community of governance professionals. We offer different levels of membership depending on where you are in your career, each of which is renewed annually.

FELLOWSHIP

is the highest level of Chartered membership for those who have achieved GradCGP status and have eight years’ relevant work experience in a senior role. The eight-year qualifying period can be reduced to five if you hold a relevant degree
or certificate/diploma which is equivalent to degree level. This level of membership provides access to all membership services, and entitles the use of the post nominals FCGP and the professional designations of Chartered company secretary and/or Chartered governance professional.

ASSOCIATESHIP

is the first level of Chartered membership for those who have achieved GradCGP status and have six years’ relevant work experience (this can be reduced to three if you hold a relevant degree). This level of membership provides access to a range of membership services, and entitles the use of the post nominals ACGP and the professional designations of Chartered company secretary and/or Chartered governance professional.

GRADUATES

are those who have completed the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme or postgraduate equivalent and are working towards the experience requirement for full Chartered membership. This level of membership provides access to a range of membership services, and entitles the use of the post nominals GradCG.

AFFILIATED

is for those who have either achieved all four Part One modules on the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme, or have passed one of our Level 4 or above certificate or diploma qualifications (exclusions apply). This level of membership
provides access to a range of membership services, and entitles the use of the post nominals AffCGP.
